LTQ Shared Bible Study
The Shared Bible Study class will begin a new study series on Sunday March 31st at 9:15 AM as part of The Way Forward learning process our church has been doing through it's Sunday School classes. We will be going through the book Staying At The Table (The Gift of Unity For United Methodist) by Bishop Scott J. Jones. This will be a five week class, the first two weeks will be over viewing the history, doctrine, reasons for schisms, and diversity of the Methodist church. The following three weeks are fifteen responses written by various Methodist members and clergy from all sides of the discussion responding to Bishop Jones writ- ings. Books can be purchased at Chris- tianbook.com or Amazon, there are no down- loadable versions of the book. Please feel free to join us for our study and discussion on the subject whether you have read the book or not.

SBS meets in the Shared Office, at 9:15 on Sunday mornings. Please come and join.

BUM Talks: The Lost Gospels

BUM (Berwyn United Methodist) Talks is an adult Sunday School Class that has been in existence for 22 years, always ready to consider what it is to live as Christians in challenging times. The search for Gospel relevance and its unique connection to our day, is our quest. Its participants learn about world of the present and the past. They also think about ways to address critical issues for Christians and members of the United Methodist Church. Differences of opinion are always welcome! There will always be questions and many divergent answers.

Join us for a Documentary presented by Anglican priest Pete Owen Jones which explores the huge number of ancient Christian texts that didn't make it into the New Testament.

Pete travels through Egypt and the former Roman Empire looking at the emerging evidence of a Christian world that's very different to the one we know, and discovers that aside from the gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John, there were over seventy gospels, acts, letters and apocalypses, all circulating in the early Church.

Through these lost Gospels, Pete reconstructs the intense intellectual and political struggles for orthodoxy that was fought in the early centuries of Christianity, a battle involving different Christian sects, each convinced that their gospels were true and sacred.

We meet in the Library on Sundays at 9:10.
Walk-ins are welcome.
Study materials are provided.
