Don’t Miss The Widows

Sunday May 04, 2025 10:00 AM

In the early church, a powerful movement of growth and faith nearly missed the people who needed it most. This week’s message, “Don’t Miss the Widows,” explores Acts 6 and the call to truly see the overlooked and respond with compassion, justice, and Spirit-led action. Just as the disciples on the Emmaus road were slow to recognize Jesus walking beside them, we too can be blind to Christ’s presence in the lives of the vulnerable around us. Join us as we reflect on what it means to live as a resurrection people—not just celebrating good news, but embodying it in how we love, serve, and see one another.

Slow Of Heart, Quick To Hope

Sunday April 27, 2025 10:00 AM

In this reflection on the road to Emmaus, we're invited to explore our own journey of faith. The story reminds us that even when we're caught in grief or doubt, Jesus walks beside us, patiently opening our hearts to understanding. Just as the disciples didn't recognize Jesus at first, we too might miss His presence in our lives when we're burdened by disappointment or loss. But this narrative encourages us to keep our hearts open, to listen, and to engage with Scripture, even when we don't have all the answers. The breaking of bread becomes a powerful symbol of revelation, reminding us that sometimes it's in the simplest acts of community and faith that we truly encounter the risen Christ. This message challenges us to look again, to trust in God's patient work in our lives, and to be ready for those moments when our hearts are set on fire with the realization of Christ's living presence among us.

The Stones We Cannot Roll Away

Sunday April 20, 2025 10:00 AM

The resurrection story invites us to confront the impossible in our lives with renewed hope. Just as the stone was rolled away from Jesus' tomb before the women arrived, God is already at work in our darkest moments, moving obstacles we thought immovable. This powerful message reminds us that transformation often begins in times of despair when all seems lost. The angels' question, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead?' challenges us to stop seeking life in places of death – old habits, addictions, or false securities. Instead, we're called to embrace the new reality Christ offers, one that transcends our limited expectations. As we face our own 'stones' – grief, fear, or seemingly insurmountable problems – we're encouraged to trust in the God who makes the impossible possible, rolling away barriers and bringing new life where we least expect it.
