One Body, One Lord: A Look at 1 Corinthians

10/20/2026 - 11/19/2026

The church in Corinth had plenty of problems. Its members argued about leaders, status, worship, spiritual gifts, and who mattered most. Yet Paul never tells them to give up on the church. Instead, he continually calls them back to what God is creating among them: a community that belongs to Christ and therefore belongs to one another.

Over five weeks, One Body, One Lord asks what holds a Christian community together when personalities, preferences, and priorities pull it apart. Paul leads us from division to belonging, from individual gifts to one body, and ultimately to love and resurrection. The church isn't simply a collection of individuals who happen to worship in the same place. We are the Body of Christ—and because Christ is risen, even our struggles and failures do not get the final word.

  1. Is Christ Divided? - 10/25/2026

Christians have never agreed on everything. From the earliest days of the church, differences in beliefs, loyalties, and leadership have threatened to divide the community of faith. Writing to the Corinthians, Paul asks a challenging question: “Has Christ been divided?”As we begin our new series, "One Body, One Lord," we'll explore how our divisions affect our witness to the world. John Wesley once asked, “Though we cannot think alike, may we not love alike?” What if the most powerful testimony we could offer isn't that we always agree, but that we continue to love one another even when we don't? Together, we'll consider what it means to be united in Christ and how that unity can help the world see the love of Jesus.
