Prelude

Welcome

Call to Worship

One: Come in — the power of God is in this place.
All: With gratitude and praise, we come into the presence of the Holy.

One: Come in — Jesus welcomes all who seek him.
All: With trust and hope, we come as we are.

One: Come in — the Spirit of love is here.
All: With joy we come to worship the One who calls us into life.

Opening Hymn

O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing UMH 57

Prayer of Confession

You are our God and we are your people, Gracious Holy One. You have called us by name, chosen us before we could choose you, and you welcome us in your presence and renew us to live in your way.

With love and gratitude we come before you, acknowledging that we have not lived up to your instruction, in so many different ways.

We stand before you, our hands empty, admitting our failure and weakness, offering all we have to give: our hearts and spirits turned to you. Your forgiveness is beyond our imagining, and yet we are bold to ask for it, and to commit ourselves to living by your grace, in the name of Jesus the Christ and the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Words of Assurance

Leader: Though we have failed in many ways, God’s mercy is endless. In Christ, we are made new.
People: We are chosen, forgiven, and renewed by grace.

Faithful God, with hearts full of praise, we offer these gifts as a sign of our gratitude for your steadfast love and faithfulness. Just as you have exalted your name and your word above all things, may these offerings be used to glorify you and extend your grace to those in need. Bless our giving, that it may bring hope, strength, and light to all who seek you. Amen.

Special Session of Charge Conference

on 3/16/2025 from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM

Berwyn United Methodist Church will hold a special session of Charge Conference on Sunday, March 16, at 11:15 AM, immediately following worship, to discuss mortgage refinancing and funding for building improvements related to our transition to full-day childcare. With our mortgage rate increasing from 4.14% to 6.73%, we are considering refinancing at 5.25% with the United Methodist Loan Board, which would also provide funds for air conditioning, child-sized bathrooms, furnishings, and security upgrades. Another option is borrowing against the $100,000 invested with the Loan Fund through the Mid-Atlantic Foundation. All members are encouraged to attend and participate in this important decision.
