Order of Worship for Sunday, April 6th 2025

Prelude

Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: God’s love is not always tidy—it disrupts, it transforms, it restores.
People: We come to worship the God who does not leave us where He found us.

Leader: The crowd feared change, but the healed man found purpose.
People: Today, may we choose faith over fear.

Leader: Let us worship the God who heals and calls us to share His mercy.

Opening Hymn

Spirit of the Living God UMH 393

Prayer of Confession

Gracious God, We confess that we are often more comfortable with the brokenness we understand than with the healing we cannot control.

We resist the changes You bring, fearing what we might have to release or who we might become. Forgive us when we choose fear over faith, comfort over calling, silence over witness.

Come again into our lives, disrupt what needs to be shaken, restore what has been lost, and make us whole by Your grace.

Words of Assurance

Leader: The One who calmed the storm, cast out fear, and restored a broken man to life is the same One who speaks peace to us now. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

People: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Amen.

Offertory Prayer

God of mercy and transformation, You meet us in our brokenness, and You do not leave us there. You call us out of fear and into purpose, out of comfort and into compassion. Receive these gifts as signs of our trust— trust that You are still healing, still restoring, still sending Your people into the world with good news. Bless what we give and use it to bring wholeness wherever Your love leads.
